Learning extends far beyond earning high marks on exams. "This is NOT on the Test" offers a unique opportunity to celebrate the joy of learning. Faculty and staff will share their passions — research, travel, hobbies, and more — in engaging, informal presentations. Connect with faculty and fellow students, explore new ideas, and rediscover the joy of learning. All are welcome!

February 11: “Serious Business: Exploring the Value of Play” with Dr. Abbylynn Helgevold

Dr. Abbylynn Helgevold, the Board of Regents Distinguished Professor in Ethics, will be the first speaker in the series "This is NOT on the Test". 

February 25: “Scripture and Scandal: The Case of Washington D.C.’s Museum of the Bible” with Rob Kashow

Rob Kashow, a teaching fellow in Religion, will be the second speaker in the series "This is NOT on the Test".

March 11: "A.V. Petting Zoo" with Kay Grigsby. Technologies are always evolving. Learn more about AV equipment that has been popular through the years with this hands-on learning opportunity.

Kay Grigsby serves as the Grant L. Price Endowed Archivist.at Wartburg College. 

April 1: No Foolin'. Get Growin'! with Dr. Tammy Faux

Dr. Tammy Faux holds the Tomson Family Distinguished Chair in Social Work at Wartburg College.

Dr Tammy Faux (Tammy) is teaching social work for her 21st year at Wartburg College.  She and her husband, Dr. Rob Faux, operate Genuine Faux Farm near Tripoli, IA.  GFF is a 15-acre diversified farm that follows organic practices, with an emphasis on non-GMO and Heirloom vegetables as well as keeping honeybees, pasture-raising hens, broiler chickens and turkeys.  This presentation will explore the joys of raising your own food and look at how to get started growing.
