Reference Hours: In and out of the library

The Librarian Is In

One of the changes coming this fall is that librarians will be available at the main circulation desk in the library for reference help at certain times during the week. You can find the times when a librarian will be stationed at the desk listed below.

  • Mondays
    9am - 11am

  • Tuesdays
    2pm - 4pm

  • Wednesdays
    9am - 11am
    6pm - 7:30pm

  • Thursdays
    6pm - 7:30pm

  • Fridays
    9am - 11am

Pop-Up Reference Help

The other change coming this fall is that librarians will be out and about at specific locations across campus for pop-up reference help. You can find the times when and where the librarians will be listed below:

  • Mondays
    8:45am - 9:45am Luther Hall (Amy)

  • Tuesdays
    9am - 10am Lyceum Lobby (Amy)
    10:30am - 11:30am Luther Hall (Melissa)

  • Wednesdays
    9:45am - 10:45am Science Center Lobby (Renée)

  • Thursdays
    2pm - 3pm FAC Lobby (Melissa)

  • Fridays
    9:45am - 10:45am Science Center Lobby (Renée)

Equipment Updates: Long-Term Laptops and Classroom Technology

Long-Term Laptops

The Long-Term Laptop Program is again assisting students, faculty, and staff who need a laptop to complete their academic work.

New this year! No need to go to Student Life - simply fill out the online form, which is linked on our Long-Term Laptop Program guide, linked below.

Classroom Technology

As classrooms across campus are going through updates, the library is here to support your classroom technology needs. We have the following equipment available for checkout for faculty and staff:

  • MOBI carts 
  • TVs on portable stands
  • 1 International VCR
  • 1 DVD/VCR Recorder
  • 1 DVD/VCR Recorder
  • 3 Blu-Ray Players
  • 1 CD/CDV/LD Laserdisc Player
  • 1 Owl
  • 2 Hotspots

Refresh Your Calendar

Set yourself up for success by setting time aside to plan for upcoming projects, events, and commitments. BYO planner or calendar and your lunch to the Faculty Development Room, 120 LIB. We'll provide post-its, pens and highlighters, and a refreshing beverage.

Totally Free Tea & Study (Work)

Totally Free Tea to enjoy while you work - available in the Learning Cloister, 3rd floor Quiet Area on the other side of the ARC Suite 314, every Tuesday from 2-4.

International Dot Day StoryWalk® & Make Your Mark

Stroll through the 1st floor of Vogel Library as you read The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. Inspired by the book, you are invited to make your mark by creating artwork in the Kreativwerkstatt.

Experience S'more

Stop by the campfire on Clinton Field and make a s'more. Learn more about items you can check out from Vogel Library - hammocks, outdoor games, camping chairs... and connect with students while enjoying the beautiful combination of chocolate, graham crackers, and toasted marshmallows.

Library Hours Updates

The library will no longer be open on Saturdays during the academic year due to budget restrictions. 

Our hours will shift on the first two days before we welcome a new academic year. Be sure to always check on our hours page (linked below) to see when we're open and closed.
