Purpose

Makerspace Use
	- Use of the K-statt is open to current students, faculty and staff of Wartburg College who acknowledge they have fully read and understand the K-statt Policy. Faculty and campus groups may reserve the K-statt by completing the library room reservation form.

	- Use of the K-statt's equipment is on a first-come first-served basis taking into account the following priority order:

		- faculty who have reserved the space for a course

		- campus groups who have reserved the space

		- students completing projects for course work

		- students completing projects for personal use

		- faculty and staff

	- Unless scheduled for use by faculty or a campus group, up to fifteen (15) persons may be in the K-statt at one time.

	- The K-statt may not be used to create items that are:

		- prohibited by local, state or federal law.

		- unsafe, harmful, dangerous, or pose an immediate threat to the well-being of others. (Such use may violate an equipment manufacturer’s terms of use.)

		- obscene or otherwise inappropriate for the library or campus environment (see the Wartburg College Code of Student Conduct).

		- in violation of another’s intellectual property rights. For example, replicating another’s design or article of manufacture may infringe on the copyright, patent, or trademark of such property.

		- mass produced for commercial use.

NB: This is not an exhaustive list and will evolve at the discretion of the Vogel Library staff.
	- Prototyping, experimentation, and testing are encouraged in the K-statt.

	- Users of the K-statt agree to this statement regarding intellectual property:

I warrant that I am authorized to use the applicable files, data, images, or any other materials (collectively “Content”) for my projects and that the use of the Content will not infringe upon any third-party’s copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret or other proprietary or intellectual property rights.
	- Projects are the sole responsibility of the creator, including the final use of the finished product. If a project requires storage, speak with the library supervisor on duty. Projects that remain in the K-statt at the end of the day will be considered abandoned and become the responsibility of Vogel Library staff.
