Shakuhachi

Shakuhachi

The shakuhachi is a Japanese notched flute with four finger-holes. Interestingly, the shakuhachi was originally imported from China, prior to the 8th century and took a few centuries to become truly Japanese.

We have many great lesson books and scores for the shakuhachi in our collection, all thanks to the input of Dr. Eric Wachmann, who is a skilled shakuhachi flautist. Search OneSearch and limit by Scores or Available in the Library to see where to go, then browse!
