Streaming Film Databases

Yes, we have streaming film options!

We have a robust DVD film collection, and we welcome any additional purchase requests, but sometimes a streaming film option is more desirable. Here is an overview of our streaming film options as of Fall 2021:

AVON (Academic Video Online):

• This is largely documentary and nonfiction films; everything in this database should be accessible as soon as you click on it.

Kanopy and Swank

• These two databases provide access to feature films, both fiction and documentary, and their selections are almost entirely unique from each other. For example, Kanopy has 400+ Criterion films, while Swank has the full Hitchcock catalog.
• Because these two databases do not currently have the most ideal searching and requesting abilities, feel free to email your streaming film requests directly to melissa.curtis@wartburg.edu.
