Preface

The purpose of the Archives of Iowa Broadcasting is to establish and maintain a permanent collection of materials relating to the history, development and contribution of radio and television in Iowa.

The Archives is committed to providing access to holdings. However, access to some items may be restricted by their fragile condition or by contractual agreement with the donors. Due to the complexity and variety of audiovisual formats, most items will need to be digitally duplicated or transferred before access can be provided.

 

Introduction

Abstract: (1963-2000) contains audio recordings and the audio equipment of Lee Kline who was a broadcaster for WHO Radio for 40 years.

 

Scope and Content Note

Extent: 157 items.

Physical Description: ¼ inch reel-to-reel audio tapes (3-inch, 5-inch, 7-inch, and 10-inch reels), audio cassettes, and audio recording equipment.

Dates: 1963-2000.

Biographical Sketch

History: Lee Kline began working for WHO Radio in 1954 doing farm news broadcasting. His career at WHO Radio lasted for forty years, and he continues to occasionally broadcast for the station about life in Iowa.
