Preface

The purpose of the Archives of Iowa Broadcasting is to establish and maintain a permanent collection of materials relating to the history, development and contribution of radio and television in Iowa.

The Archives is committed to providing access to holdings. However, access to some items may be restricted by their fragile condition or by contractual agreement with the donors. Due to the complexity and variety of audiovisual formats, most items will need to be digitally duplicated or transferred before access can be provided.

 

Introduction

Abstract: Audiovisual materials, 1966-2003. This collection contains WHO Radio materials donated by George Davison, a former host at WHO Radio. The collection consists mostly of ¼-inch audiotapes and CDs but also includes VHS and Beta type videotapes. Main subjects of the recordings are newscasts, politics and sports.

Biographical Sketch/Agency History

History: George F. Davison is an attorney and a former board member of the Archives of Iowa Broadcasting. In the past, he worked as the Sunday host of WHO Radio. Davison had also been a presenter of WHO’s “Wise Guys” program from 2002-2003, in which he mainly focused on America’s transportation systems.
