Iowa Broadcast News Association (IBNA) Collection
Preface
The purpose of the Archives of Iowa Broadcasting is to establish and maintain a permanent collection of materials relating to the history, development and contribution of radio and television in Iowa.
The Archives is committed to providing access to holdings. However, access to some items may be restricted by their fragile condition or by contractual agreement with the donors. Due to the complexity and variety of audiovisual formats, most items will need to be digitally duplicated or transferred before access can be provided.
Introduction
Abstract: Audiovisual materials, 1972-2006. This collection contains newscasts and shows that were entered in contests to the Iowa Broadcast News Association. Main subjects of recordings include the IBNA News Contest, politics and comedy.
Scope and Content Note
Extent: 169 items.
Physical Description: Audio- and videotapes (VHS, U-matic, Betacam, NAB cartridge, cassette, ½ inch videotape, etc.), CDs and DVDs.
Dates: 1972-2006.

Biographical Sketch/Agency History
History: The Iowa Broadcast News Association is a nonprofit corporation of radio-TV professionals and enthusiasts from Iowa. It provides legal protection, scholarships and training opportunities for its members, as well as a platform to discuss news and different issues related to the organization and Iowa’s media landscape.
