Finding Articles

Below are several databases that contain a lot of good resources for physics. In addition, you can search OneSearch, which searches many resources at once, to find more articles.

Extensive collection of journals, ebooks, dissertations, news, video and primary sources from 1970 to the present. Includes ProQuest Central, ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global, Academic Complete, and Academic Video Online.
Astrophysics Data System (SAO/NASA) This link opens in a new window
The ADS provides access and pointers to a wealth of external resources, including electronic articles, data catalogs and archives.
Advanced Technologies & Aerospace Database This link opens in a new window
Provides full-text titles from around the world, including scholarly journals, trade and industry journals, magazines, technical reports, conference proceeding, dissertations, and government publications. Topics covered include aeronautics, astronautics, communications, computer and information technology, electronics, lasers, solid-state materials and devices, space sciences, and telecommunications.

Peer-reviewed articles in over two hundred subject areas across science, engineering, medicine, and the related social sciences and humanities.

Multidisciplinary full-text academic journals, books, and primary sources (usually excludes the past 2-5 years).
Annual Reviews This link opens in a new window
Collections of critical reviews written by leading scientists and social scientists. They provide a synthesis of the primary research literature.

Full-text journal articles and book chapters on topics including the physical and health sciences, math, computer science, and some social sciences. NOTE: to download full text articles from ScienceDirect, first create an account using your Wartburg email address.

How to request an article through ScienceDirect:

To download full text articles from Science Direct:

Create an account by clicking on the "Register" link at the top of the page. (Sign up with your wartburg.edu email, but DO NOT use the "Sign in via your organization" option.)
Once registered, you can download the full text of an article in one of two ways:
1. For free full text articles, simply click the "View PDF" blue button.
2. For other articles, click the "Order PDF" blue button.
  Read through the access details and then fill out the Order form.
