Introduction

Abstract: The Wartburg Clarion was the Wartburg Clinton campus’ school newspaper. It was first published in 1926, by students and alumni of Wartburg College, for the students and alumni of Wartburg College. It was initially published monthly and generally consisted of eight issues. During this time, a yearly subscription was 75 cents. Ads were added starting in 1927, at the start of the second volume. The third volume had nine issues. By the sixth volume, in 1931, the paper had increased its output to bi-weekly. The subscription price also increased to one dollar. This publication includes campus news, events, and sports schedules and scores, from the Clinton campus in the late 1920’s and the 1930’s. It also contains interesting opinion pieces written by the students and alumni. This publication ran from 1926 through 1935.
