History: The station was founded in 1948 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, under the assigned letter KWCR. It became KLWW in the 1960s and kept its name until 1988, when it was changed to its current name, KMRY. Besides broadcasting for the Cedar Rapids Kernels, the channel is well-known for airing the top hits from the 1960s to the 1980s, as well as its weekly show dedicated to Elvis Presley. The station was recognized for its outstanding work during its KLWW period by being inducted to the Iowa Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
