- Impact Factor
- A measure of the influence and importance of a journal based on how often articles are cited by other research publications.
- The journal Impact Factor is the average number of times articles from the journal published in the past two years have been cited in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) year.
- An Impact Factor of 1.0 means that, on average, the articles published one or two year ago have been cited one time.
- An Impact Factor of 2.5 means that, on average, the articles published one or two year ago have been cited two and a half times.
- In general a score of 3-6 is considered good. Anything over 10 is considered remarkable. The average score is less than 1.
