Preface

The Wartburg College Archives is responsible for the collection and preservation of records that document the college’s history, development, operation, policies, people, activities, and events.

The Archives is committed to providing access to holdings. However, access to some items may be restricted by their fragile condition or by contractual agreement with the donors, and it may not be possible at all times to provide appropriate machinery for reading, viewing or accessing non-print materials. In such circumstances arrangements may have to be made for digital duplication or transfer to occur before access can be provided.

Biographical Sketch/Agency History

History: Wartburg’s Peace and Justice Studies is an interdisciplinary program that can be completed as a single major, or combined with another discipline. The Peace and Justice major “includes four courses in a "specialty tier" of the student's choosing. These tiers include Gender Studies, Environmental Studies, Social Structures and Attitudes, Religion and Philosophy, Communication and Persuasion, International Relations and Business/Economics” (Peace and Justice Studies). The Dell Association for Peace and Justice awards five senior students that fit the criteria for an active participant in peace and justice issues.
