Preface
The Wartburg College Archives is responsible for the collection and preservation of records that document the college’s history, development, operation, policies, people, activities, and events.
The Archives is committed to providing access to holdings. However, access to some items may be restricted by their fragile condition or by contractual agreement with the donors, and it may not be possible at all times to provide appropriate machinery for reading, viewing or accessing non-print materials. In such circumstances arrangements may have to be made for digital duplication or transfer to occur before access can be provided.
Introduction
Abstract: Various conference material dating from 1960 to present relating to student, faculty, and/or general community involvement. This collection contains various formats of material such as flyers, programs, invites, registration papers, notes, reports, and booklets. Items are organized in alphabetical order divided in to 4 boxes.

Biographical Sketch/Agency History
History: This collection holds several materials from various conferences of which some of the most items are from the “All African Student Conference”, various social work conferences around the state and country, “Things That Matter in the Lives of Children”, “Women’s Day Conference”, and other various Christian related conferences.
The “All African Student Conference” was a conference held on Wartburg’s campus and invited African students to enjoy speeches by Africans. There are five years of these events in this collection. While the event was held at Wartburg, participants came from various schools around the Midwest.
“Things that Matter in the Lives of Children” was a conference held at Wartburg College for people of various relationships to children—whether teachers, daycare providers, grandparents and parents, social workers, or community leaders. The conferences featured nationally renowned speakers, workshops, programs for children, and networking opportunities. This collection features materials from this conference dating 1997 to 2001.
The “Women’s Day Conference” was held at Wartburg College for many years. Each year’s conference had a different theme. Speakers at this conference discussed women’s accomplishments and involvement throughout different countries and cultures. This conference was tied in with “Women’s week” or also known as “Women’s Month” where various activities and programs were available to the community. The materials in this collection span from 1985 to 1995.
