The language we use to describe a relationship, informs how the people in the relationship come to the table and interact with each other. My official role at Wartburg College is as an Information Literacy Librarian and one of my primary responsibilities is as a liaison to my assigned departments and programs. But what does that mean to you as a faculty member serving and the students earning degrees from those very same departments and programs? To me, it means you have a partner in your facilitation of teaching, and the students have another person committed to their learning process.
My goal as I step into my second year in this position is to
- deepen the relationships I have been forming in my discipline areas
- continue to create information literacy informed by the research process and its role in inquiry-based learning
- continue to place information literacy into the most meaningful places and spaces for each individual discipline and program with which I partner
I am always up for a cup of coffee and a chat. I'd love to meet with each of you to hear about your own research interests as well as the trends you see with our students.
